The UN Foundation has teamed up with a fitness app, Charity Miles, to launch the #VDay10k campaign for the month of February (sorry that I didn't get information to you earlier). If you just download the FREE iPhone or Android app to your smartphone, Charity Miles will donate money for every mile walked, run or biked during February. It isn't too late to get some miles in (and when February ends, the app will continue to earn money for charities).
The United Nations Foundation will be donating the money earned from this #VDay10k campaign to these charities:
- Shot@Life - Provider of life saving vaccines to children in areas that need them most
- Nothing But Nets - Helps protect families from malaria
- Girl Up - Helps teen girls in developing countries safely attend school
Even though February is ending, you can still continue to help.
- Keep using you charity miles app and choose the charity of your choice from the app.
- Check in, now and then, with the United Nations Foundation website and see if there are any campaigns that interest you.
- Check out the websites of the three campaigns above and see how you can get involved.
The world's problems won't go away on their own. It takes people like you and me to help.
