My FiOS app
Checkout new tech giveaway: Big Giveaway: WD Router, Media Player and Cloud Storage Devices

I switched from using cable for my TV and Internet needs to Verizon FIOS a few years ago, and I couldn't be happier about that decision. I already wrote 5 Reasons I Love Verizon FIOS last year. This post is here to tell you all about the My FiOS app (including other related FiOS apps) and give you a chance to win a brand new iPad 3.

The My FiOS app is available for the iPhone, iPad (itunes) and android (Google Play store) platforms. I am writing about my experience with the Apple apps, but the android is mostly the same.

When you download the My FiOS app, you will also want to download the FiOS Mobile and Media Manager apps. Those two apps will then work right through My FiOS and you can do everything all from one app.

What can you do with the My FiOS app? The answer would be shorter if I said, what can't you do? With this app you can:
  1. Check our Verizon FiOS account - check your plans, update your profile, report problems and so much more.
  2. My Bill - View and pay your FiOS bill and check your payment history.
  3. Support - get help with any FiOS problem you are experiencing
  4. FAQs
  5. Control My Home - If you have Verizon Home Monitoring and you download the Home Monitoring app, you can control it through My FiOS.
  6. TV & Movies on Demand - See what is available On Demand before you even turn on your TV. Browse and search for TV and movies, see what's hot and review your history. (this is one of my favorite app features)
  7. My Music, Photos and Videos (media manager) - Add to your FiOS library
  8. My TV and DVR (mobile) - Browse TV listings, control your DVR and TV and setup parental controls.
You will never need to go to the Verizon FiOS website again once you have the My FiOS app. There is also a Verizon FiOS Spotlight Magazine app that you can download for free. There are stories of what is happening each month and also includes a list of every channel on FiOS and the corresponding channel number, which can come in handy.

Time for the iPad contest. The contest is open only for those with a United States mailing address. The contest ends at midnight on November 20, 2012. Good luck.

  1. Comcast is what I use but I am always looking to save on my internet bill. It is a bundle, TV Cable, internet and land line phone. I use Verizon for my cell phone? I would like to hear more now that you bring up the subject!

  2. Haralee, I will be writing 4 more posts about Verizon FiOS in the coming months so you will get much more information.

  5. I have Comcast for my Internet and Cable television, AT&T for my cellphone service. I've been debating on switching to Verizon. Some love it, some hate it. I'm not thrilled with AT&T but they've been my provider for more years than I can remember.

  6. When FiOS was available in my area, I jumped on it as fast as possible. Comcast was just atrocious, especially its VHS-quality "high definition". I'm also making several friends jealous with my current 50/25 Internet connection. :) Love it, love it, love it!

  7. We use Comcast, presently, and are pretty happy with it. So, (I had to google) it stands for Fiber Optic Service? It sounds like you're delighted with it. My husband is my IT guy. I'll ask him what he knows about it.

  9. I was very excited when FiOS was available in my area a few years ago. The experience has been great, and I always recommend it to anyone that has it available to them. It's awesome!

  10. Great blog, really informative! I use Time Warner Cable for cable, internet and home phone service. AT&T for cellphone. AT&T actually redeemed themselves lately with texts and emails when we get close to going over our allotted plan. I just got the Time Warner app but have yet to check it out.
