Surprising facts from a survey conducted by the American Dental Association and PopCap:
- 93% of all kids surveyed said they would rather receive a free video game on Halloween than candy
- 67% of kids say they eat too much candy around Halloween
- The average child receives 91 pieces of candy when trick-or-treating on Halloween
PopCap Games and the ADA are trying to save kids teeth from too much sugar with their Stop Zombie Mouth campaign. Eating too much sugar could wind up with your kids looking like the Zombies from PopCap's popular Plants vs. Zombies game.
If you would like to give out free game downloads this Halloween instead of sugary candy, ask your dentist if he has the limited edition, collectible Plants vs. Zombie cards. If not, you can download and print out Free Game Coupons at the Stop Zombie Mouth website.
For a fun way for your kids to learn about stopping Zombie Mouth, have them watch this fun musical video titled Plants vs. Zombies & the ADA Present: Stop Zombie Mouth!
For more facts from the ADA on healthy teeth for kids, go to the learn more section of the Stop Zombie Mouth website. And maybe make Halloween less about candy and more about other treats that kids will enjoy. Happy Halloween!
