The Gamer Generations: Reaping the Benefits of Video Games
In between all the articles that you see on violence in video games, you may have noticed an occasional article on a benefit or two. However, you might be surprised to learn that there are so many benefits to playing video games that they can change your life and the world you live in. I have just published a new book, The Gamer Generation: Reaping the Benefits of Video Games, that takes a look at the many studies and articles from the past decade to bring to light the real truth about video games.

These are the topics that The Gamer Generation covers:
  • Social Benefits
  • Physical and Health Benefits
  • The Other side of the Violent Video Game argument
  • Cognitive Benefits
  • Video Games in Education
  • Educational Value of Creating Video Games
  • Business and Careers
  • Serious Video Games
  • Family Connections
The book also includes many resources for those that want to learn more on the topic.

Eventually video games will be taken more seriously. The word "game" still makes that difficult, and the fact that  baby boomers did not grow up with them and still look at them as a kids toy. However, as you will see in The Gamer Generation: Reaping the Benefits of Video Games, the advances that games are making in healthcare, education and many other areas are getting too big to ignore.
