1. Widmore kidnapped Desmond from the hospital after he was shot by Ben in season 5 episode Jughead. Was that the last time we saw Desmond in the original timeline? I can't believe its been so long.
2. Widmore says to Desmond, "I can't take you back, the Island isn't done with you yet". We've heard that phrase many times throughout Lost.
3. There is a rabbit in a cage in the generator room. Have we seen a rabbit in every episode this season? This rabbit's name is Angstrom, from the John Updike Rabbit, Run novels.
4. Widmore tells Desmond, "My son died here for the sake of this Island, your wife, my own daughter hates me and I've never seen my grandson. But if you won't help me Desmond, all of it will be for nothing. Penny, your son, and everyone will be gone forever." in response to Desmond telling Widmore that he doesn't know what sacrifice is.
5. Widmore to Jin about Desmond, "That man is the only one I am aware of in the world that has survived a catastrophic, electromagnetic event, I need to know that he can do it again." The event in question was when Desmond turned the key in the Hatch and it exploded in Live Together, Die Alone, the season 2 finale.
6. In the flash sideways, after coming off flight 815, Hurley tells Desmond the bags are on carousel 4 (one of the numbers). He then meets Claire and predicts that she will have a boy.
7. Desmond's chauffeur is George Minkowski, from the freighter in The Constant.
7. Major flash sideways difference, Desmond works for Widmore and they have a great relationship. However, Desmond doesn't even know Penny and he is single and has never been in love.
8. Daniel is now a talented musician and his parents, Charles and Eloise, are married. Daniel wants Driveshaft to play at his mother's charity benefit.
9. Widmore shares a drink of his 60 year old bottle of MacCutcheon whiskey with Desmond, the same whiskey he refused to share with him in season 3, Flashes Before Your Eyes.
9. Desmond picks up Charlie from jail after Widmore bailed him out. While crossing the street, Charlie walks in front of many cars but isn't hit. I thought Desmond would have to rescue him, but it looks like in this timeline Charlie is not meant to die.
10. In the bar, Desmond tells Charlie, "You always have a choice brother".
11. Charlie tells Desmond that when he saw a beautiful blond (Claire) on the plane he instantly fell in love. When he was about to die on the plane, he saw what this great real love looked like.
12. We hear the Driveshaft song "You all everybody" on Desmond's car radio.
13. Charlie take the wheel of the car that he and Desmond are in drives them into the water. Desmond gets out and tries to rescue Charlie. He sees flashes of the scene from Through the Looking Glass when Charlie died in the underground hatch. He sees the words "Not Pennys Boat" written on Charlie's hand. When the nurse at the hospital asks Desmond if he had any hallucinations he isn't sure.
14. In the ct scan Desmond sees flashes of his other life with Penny and his baby. He then runs into Jack in the hospital. When Desmond tells Charlie about seeing the word Penny, Charlie tells him he has to find her. He also says, "None of this is real".
15. Widmore sends Desmond to Eloise to tell her about losing Driveshaft for her concert. When Desmond apologies to her, she is very nice and says, "What happened, happened". However, when she sees Desmond trying to see the list with Penny's name on it, she gets angry. She tells him, "It is a violation, whatever you think you are looking for, you need to stop looking for it, you have attained what you most wanted, my husband's approval". When Desmond asks how she knows what he wants, she says "Because I bloody do, You are not ready yet Desmond". She seems to be fully aware of what past events and the Island.
16. Desmond meets Daniel, but his name is now Daniel Widmore, not Farady, since his parents are married.
17. Daniel has figured out what happened and it now confirms what many of us have suspected, The flash sideways is what happened after they detonated the bomb and destroyed the island and their lives were reset. He says to Desmond, "Do you believe in love at first sight?" The second time he has heard that this day. He talks about seeing a woman (Charlotte) in a museum (we learned she worked there in Recon), eating a chocolate bar (which we know she loves from This Place is Death in season 5).
18. Later that night Daniel, who is a musician, wrote a quantum mechanics equations that his friend at Cal Tech told him is so advanced that only a someone that studied physics their whole life could have written. He says, "what if something so catastrophic was about to happen that only a nuclear bomb could prevent it. What if this wasn't supposed to be our life? What if we had some other life and for some reason we changed things?" Somebody finally figured it out. We are now putting it all together. He then tells Desmond that Penny is his half sister and he can tell him where to find her. In this reality, Daniel knows about Penny.
19. Desmond goes to the same stadium where we saw him meet Jack in Man of Science, Man of Faith. Penny is running up and down the steps just as Desmond did back in season 2. Desmond looks completely in love.
20. Desmond wakes up again on the Island and tells Widmore he completely understands. He remembers what Daniel told him. He is so far the only one that can remember both timelines.
21. Sayid appears and shoots some of Widmore's people and tells Zoe to run. He tells Desmond to come with him and he does. How will this effect Widmore's plan. I think Desmond only went with him out of fear, because Sayid looked crazy. He really does want to help Widmore with his plan.
22. Back at the bleachers, Desmond wakes up from fainting and makes plans to meet Penny for coffee (I'm still hoping to see Sawyer and Juliet meet for coffee). He then tells George back in the car that he wants the manifest from flight 815. He believes Daniel and wants to tell the rest of the passengers. This should get good as the two timelines will now really come together.
I am so looking forward to next week's Hurley centric episode. As much as I loved this Desmond centric episode of Lost, Happily Ever After, we didn't get to see many of the Lost characters. Hopefully, they will all come together soon.
