While the contest and voting factor do add interest to American Idol, the show is only as good as each season's contestants. Glee, on the other hand, has a cast we all love, while adding extra elements like sex, scandals, dancing and celebrity guests that do more than just give advice.
According to Kirthana Ramsetti, managing editor of Predicto Mobile, "Reality TV seems to be taking its toll on America as audiences are shifting back towards entertainment with a little more substance". She adds, "I think viewers want to watch television shows that they can personally identify with, and the celebrity lifestyle idolized by many, is not something that people can relate to. Shows like Glee and another 2010 hit Modern Family bring entertainment back to familiar setting that are highly entertaining while also relevant to our daily lives".
Predicto Mobile provides information on what the country really thinks about current issues. Some recent polls produced about Glee include:
- Would Glee draw more than 10 million viewers when it returned in April after its long break? 74% correctly predicted yes.
- Will Madonna announce that she will appear on the second Madonna episode of Glee by August 2010? 82% predict yes.
- Since Madonna had an episode of Glee devoted to her music, will Michael Jackson get a similar show this season? 64% predict yes.
- Is American Idol alum Adam Lambert going to appear on Glee this season? 66% predict yes.
