FreshBrain is an educational, non-profit, technology exploration platform for teens. The founders of FreshBrain created it to help fill in the gaps in technology education that schools have been unable to provide.
On FreshBrain, teens can explore, connect and create. They can explore the projects and activities that other teens have already done to help get ideas for their own. They can connect with other teens through blogs, forums and groups to discuss what they are working on or just talk. And, they learn to create.
"Providing the latest tools in technology, and a social interactive networking environment, has enabled teens to explore, create, and share with others. A result of pulling these two key online arenas together into one solution has enabled FreshBrain to attract teens comfortable with technology and communicating online. Creations from FreshBrain users range from music videos to logo designs."
There are eight areas that teens can choose to create in. They are Eco/Green, Gaming, Graphic Design, Music, Venture, Videos/Movies, Web and Development. Teens can create activities and projects. All tools needed for any project is made available by FreshBrain. Advisors are always available online to help.
- Activities - a fairly simple, pre-designed task to create something useful that can take between a few days and a few weeks.
- Projects - completed alone or with a team, it can take weeks to months and have a number of phases.
FreshBrain is always looking for volunteers in a variety of areas. If you want to learn more about volunteering at FreshBrain, click volunteer. If you want to know more about FreshBrain as a parent, click parents. I hope you will check out this great teen website. You will be amazed.
