The writer's strike last winter hurt almost everyone connected with the television and movie business. Some TV shows were hurt more than others. 24 never even aired last year. Heroes, after a disappointing first half, never got to redeem itself with a second half. And then there were the shows that premiered last year, such as Chuck and Dirty Sexy Money. For the most part they did not return after the strike.

The reason most new shows were not brought back is that these shows hadn't really found themselves yet and it was thought that it would be better to wait until they could start full new storylines rather than air just a few episodes and then be off again for four months.

There were many other shows effected other than Chuck and Dirty Sexy Money but these were two of my favorites and also the two that I feel need more help than some of the others. Private Practice is well known due to its Grey's Anatomy connection and Pushing Daisies has been getting great hype especially now with its Emmy nominations.

Chuck, especially, is a perfect parent/teen TV show. It is a comedy/action show with funny, likable characters. It is created by Josh Schwartz, of O.C. and Gossip Girl fame. The show stars Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin (of so many things but always known by me as Jayne in Firefly), Sarah Lancaster and Joshua Gomez (Seth Green doppleganger). Give it a try.
