Do you find that your teenagers use words that you never heard before? Do you hear words on cool television shows that you aren't sure what they mean. There is a special dictionary just for these occasions. It is called the Urban Dictionary and is available online and in print. The online version is updated constantly, whereas the print format of the Urban Dictionary so far has 2005 and 2007 versions.
The Urban Dictionary is described as "a slang dictionary with your definitions. Define your world". Anybody can add their own definitions. However, editors have final say on what gets published. To use it you can type any word into the search box that appears on every page and you will get all of the possible definitions. Or you can just browse by letter. So if you don't know what a noob is or what meme, cougar, spim or schooled means, its time to visit the Urban Dictionary and get with it.

Maybe I should have just read this instead of actually spending time in the ghetto learning the slang the past few years....ya, thats wassup.
Really useful thing. English is not my native and what I've been taught at school is too "classic" language. When I try to watch TV programs with no translation, I don't understand slang at all:(
Love it!! I've bookmarked the website :)
